KennelCheck (kennelcheck.co.uk) is the data controller for the information on this site. Contact us at hello@kennelcheck.co.uk.

Where the data comes from

Every listing comes from public animal activity licence registers that UK councils publish. We don't buy data or collect it from anywhere else. Each listing links to the council register it came from.

Lawful basis

We process this information under legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Pet owners have a legitimate interest in checking that a boarder is licensed by their council, and we keep what we show to the minimum needed for that.

What we show for home boarders

Home boarders work from private homes. For home boarders, and for listings where the council hasn't said what type of business it is, we show only:

• the trading name, if there is one
• the postcode district (for example CM17), never the full postcode
• the licensing council
• the star rating
• the licence number and expiry date

We never show their address, full postcode or personal names. Business premises such as kennels and catteries may show the address the council publishes.

Corrections and removal

You can ask us to correct, update or remove information about you. Email hello@kennelcheck.co.uk with the page address (URL) and what you'd like changed. We aim to act within 5 working days. See our corrections and takedowns page for details. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Visitors

Search runs in your browser, so we don't store what you type. If we add advertising or affiliate links, those partners may use cookies, and we'll ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
