Data sources
KennelCheck lists animal activity licences issued by UK local councils. We collect the information from two kinds of public source:
- Council public registers. Many councils publish their animal licensing registers on their own websites as web pages, PDFs or spreadsheets. Each listing links to the register it came from.
- animal-licensing.uk. For some councils, licence details (licence number, expiry date, star rating and licensed activity) come from animal-licensing.uk (Paws on the Doors), which republishes council animal licence data. Listings from this source link to the matching page there.
Licence
Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Privacy
Home boarders usually work from a private home. For them we show only the business name (where it isn't a personal name) and the postcode area, never a full address or full postcode. Expired licences are hidden.
Spotted a mistake? See corrections & takedowns. The council that issued the licence is the authoritative source, so always confirm with them before booking.
